This piece began as a simple experiment with abstraction and color. I painted the background first without a plan for what would come next. I set the canvas on the kitchen table to dry, while I thought about what I would later paint onto the abstract background.
When I returned an hour later, I found the family cat, Ginger, sitting on the painting. Ginger (a cat I love deeply) became the center of the piece! (You can see her sitting on the painting in the second photo!)
The golden paw prints remain as a tribute to the moment that inspired the work. This painting is a celebration of unexpected creativity, animal companionship, and the love of our furry friends.
